Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) Indication = Active Mode : 0.00 to 0.40% BAC [0.00-4.00g/L or 0.00-2.0mg/L]

Active Mode Operation
If you attach and use the mouthpiece provided with the unit, you are operating the device in Active Mode
1. Instructions
a. Press in and hold the power switch to turn the unit on. You can see the cumulative test count and will be displayed continously.
b. Release the power Switch with test counter or sign is displayed then you can see the letters in the display
indicating Active Mode operation. There will be an automatic countdown from to as the unit warms up.
After two sharp beeps the device is ready.
c. Secure your lips around the mouthpiece and blow sharply and steadily into the unit for at about 5 seconds.
You will hear two beeps when the device has finished taking the breath sample. You will see the digit moving
left to right in the display as the device is analyzing the sample.
d. After analysis is complete, you will see the blood alcohol concentration (BAC) results displayed.
e. The results will be displayed for approximately 15 seconds after which the unit will shut itself off.
f. If the device cannot take a successful sample, you will see in the display and the unit will shut itself off.

2. Understanding Your Results (BAC Reading)
1. %BAC : 0.00 to 0.01 = Safe Range and Little/no alcohol intake
% : 0.00 to 0.10 = Safe Range and Little/no alcohol intake
mg/BrAC : 0.00 to 0.05 = Safe Range and Little/no alcohol intake
2. %BAC : 0.02 to 0.04 = Moderate Range and Increased alcohol intake
%: 0.20 to 0.40 = Moderate Range and Increased alcohol intake
mg/BrAC : 0.10 to 0.20 = Moderate Range and Increased alcohol intake
3. %BAC : 0.05 and over= Warning Range and Ability to drive may be impaired. WARN light displayed on unit

Passive Mode Operation
You can operate the unit in Passive Mode without using a mouthpiece. Tests will be quicker and more convenient but results
will be given in BAC ranges, rather than a numerical reading.
1. Instructions
a. Press in and hold the power switch to turn the unit on. You can see the cumulative test count and will be displayed continously.
b. Release the power Switch when sign is displayed then you can see the letters in the display
indicating Passivee Mode operation. There will be an automatic countdown from to as the unit warms up.
c. Blow sharply and steadily int the sensor opening near the top of the unit for at least 5 seconds.
You will hear two beeps when the device has finished taking the breath sample. After analysis is complete
you will see the blood alcohol concentration (BAC) results displayed.
d. In Passive Mode, you can immediately do another test your when you see in the display after the unit has shown
the measurement for the previous test.
